Official FIFA to postpone the bidding process host the World Cup in 2026. This was revealed by the Secretary General of FIFA, Jerome Valcke during his visit in the Russian city of Samara, one of the 2018 World Cup venue, Wednesday (10/6).
FIFA official statement through Valcke is also an important thing first after the resignation of the president, Sepp Blatter a few weeks ago.
"Because of the situation, I think it is nonsense to begin the bidding process (PD 2026) for a while. It will be delayed," said Valcke as reported by The Telegraph, Wednesday (10/6).
Initially, the bidding process will be carried out as soon as possible, and when FIFA decided to hold the congress in Kuala Lumpur, in May 2017.
A number of countries interested to host World Cup 2026, such as the United States, Canada, Mexico and Colombia. "But with the existing investigation, it is not possible," said Valcke.
